NAFA Clean Air Award won by Memorial Hospital, San Gabriel Valley, CA.

NAFA Award winnersAlvaro Martinez and Bill Jaegar of Huntington Memorial Hospital were presented with the NAFA Clean Air Award by our very Don Smith, Koch FIlter Corporation's Southern California District Sales Manager.

In February of 1892, a group of prominent citizens determined their community would be best served by a local medical facility. The Pasedena Hospital association was created and within a few years a not for profit hospital opened its doors for service.

For 118 years, Huntington Memorial Hospital has been at the heart of the San Gabriel Valley and surrounding communities. At Huntington, their mission is to excel at the delivery of health care to their community. Part of that commitment is to continue with expansion and provide preventative maintenance procedures that will assure their buildings are energy efficient and provide clean air to occupants.

Utilizing Koch filters with proper MERV levels has allowed Huntington Memorial to be a leader in providing Clean Air in the work environment.

Louisville Slugger Museum goes Green with Komen Pink!

Pink filters being loaded into the Louisville Slugger Museum

Hillerich and Bradsby Company, makers of the famous Louisville Slugger bat, first went Pink with their major league baseball bats. In August of 2010 their next step in going Pink took them right into Green. By installing Koch's "PINK" filtration products in the Louisville Slugger Museum they are going to provide their patrons with much cleaner air to breathe and also save money with increased efficiency.  And because Koch FIlter is donating at least $30,000 from the sell of these specially designed "Pink" filters, they'll also be supporting Susan G. Komen for the Cure in its promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever.

“Oh this is great,” Hillerich and Bradsby CEO John Hillerich said. “We've had a relationship with Susan G. Komen for the cure for four or five years now. So anything we can do to help them and also support another privately held and family-operated company from our hometown of Louisville, just like ours, to get the word out, to the good things they are doing along with Susan G. Komen, it's something we just love to do.”

David Koch, President of Koch Filter Corporation, said, "what makes the filter "green" is its ability to allow proper airflow without losing efficiency and saving energy in the process."

“It is a different kind of program from what Komen usually does because it is an industrial product,” Koch said. “So this pink filter we developed with them will be shipped to air handlers all over the country like the one here at H&B Museum.”

But how much cleaner will the air be because of the new vents?

“They remove very tiny particles,” Dr. Jim Sublett, the founder of Allergyzone, said.  “Down to the sub-micron level that cause a lot of allergies and repertory problems for people. It is important to keep your air clean and improve your indoor air quality.”
